Born in Penticton BC, but spending most of his life on, or around Vancouver Island, Patrick McCallum has spent the majority of his career in the creative sector. Essentially self-taught, save for a year studying Graphic Design at George Brown College in Toronto, McCallum has worked as a commercial illustrator, comic book creator, art director, t-shirt designer, copywriter, muralist, storyboard artist, graphic designer, caricaturist, and art teacher until committing to fine art in 2015.

Since beginning to enter juried shows he has won The Award of Excellence at the Sooke Fine Art Show 2015, and The Juror’s Prize at the Sidney Fine Art Show in 2016.

He continues to teach classical drawing in classes and to private students, in addition to taking on select illustration commissions.

In addition to his artistic pursuits he holds a Masters degree in Professional Communication from Royal Roads University, Victoria BC.
